Deepa Mehta's next venture Midnight's Children, based on 1980's Booker Prize-winning book by Salman Rushdie, will finally be releasing in India. Earlier today, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the film without any cuts.
Tweeting about the certification Mehta said, "India here we come - intact! Great news - 'Midnight's Children' went through Indian censor board today without one pic cut. Salman Rushdie and I THRILLED."
The film revolves around the national emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi from June 1975 to March 1977. Midnight's Children features an ensemble cast comprising Satya Bhabha, Shriya Saran, Siddharth, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Rahul Bose, Soha Ali Khan and Darsheel Safary.
