Deepti Naval would be seen playing the role of a Bengali school teacher in Divya Khosla Kumar's maiden directorial venture Yaariyaan. The veteran actress who plays the character of Mrs. Sen in the film produced by Bhushan Kumar has been busy rehearsing her lines to get the Bengali accent correctly. She will also be seen wearing typical Bengal cotton sarees.
Divya admits she was rather skeptical before approaching Deepti for the role. She says, "I was aware that Deepti is very choosy about the kind of films she does. She is barely seen doing commercial films in the recent times. To my surprise she gave her nod during the first narration itself."
Yaariyaan is a contemporary young film, a campus flick that takes audiences through a journey of the best years of their life. Besides Naval, the film also stars Gulshan Grover who plays the college dean in the film.
