A while back, it was reported that the 2011 Hollywood film Warrior featuring Tom Hardy, Sean McAnallen, Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Morrison, Frank Grillo and Nick Nolte would soon be remade in Bollywood. The said remake would feature Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra, Jackie Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Now we hear that the film has since been renamed to Brothers. Tweeting about the same, Karan Johar, whose Dharma Production will be co-producing the film with Lionsgate and Endemol India, posted, "Dharma Productions, Lionsgate, Endemol India present 'BROTHERS' directed by Karan Malhotra and starring Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff. Releasing Oct 2nd, 2015."
Simultaneously, lead star Akshay Kumar who will be seen playing the role originally played by Tom Hardy posted on Facebook saying, "My first association with Karan Johar. BROTHERS
