For those who are unaware, the Khan family was faced with the risk of losing their Panvel property due to a Bombay High Court ruling which upheld the state government's contention that the Khan family were encroachers on property that belonged to the Forest Department.
However, in a Supreme Court ruling dated January 30, 2014, the bench directed the Maharashtra Government to remove the tag 'private forest' that had been attached the family's 35 acre property.
