Post the recent Income Tax raid at Ekta Kapoor's Juhu residence and suburban office, the IT department have concluded that the filmmaker and TV producer has evaded taxes to the tune of Rs. 30 crores.
The raid, that was carried out by a team of over 100 officers, claim that apparently taxes were evaded by augmenting cost during the production stage of the various projects undertaken by the company in the last six years. Besides this, a property bought and sold by the company wasn't according to the existing realty rate and the land development costs were inflated to show lesser profits.
While on the other hand, sources close to the production house say that the company has agreed to pay this amount, and the fine it attracts.
